Pleasanton Technology Newsletter Technology
News: This month in the news: This month we are putting the finishing touches on getting our video class projects aired on our local cable channel. Larry Lawrence has been in constant contact with Classic Cable and it is my opinion that it will not be long before we will be able to have our finished projects on the local channel. All we are waiting on is the equipment to come in. Tomorrow, Mr. Johnson and I will be taking a few of the Grade School teachers to Leavenworth to view the Academy of Reading software being used in their school. This software is the only software that I know of to offer a guarantee for student performance. The software is guaranteed to raise student performance of standardized reading tests by 2.5 grade levels after only 25 hours of seat time with the software. This group of teachers will be evaluating it and then probably taking it to the Technology committee for their approval for next year. If
there is anything that you would like to see implemented in the area of
technology for next year or two, let me know.
When the Technology team meets we will be working out a two-year plan.
Internet: Isn’t it nice to be able to access the pages you want without waiting… Craw-Kan has almost finished their upgrade. As far as speed goes we are where we want to be. The part that we are still waiting on is their web server upgrade. We can still not add to it for a few more days. If everything goes according to plan, we won’t have to worry about this next year we will have our own web server paid for mostly by erate grant money. Some
