Technology News:

This month in the news: We are now on the local cable channel.  Mr. Lawrence and I have all of the equipment in place and we are showing the finished videos 2 times a day.  When we take out new videos we air them one full week at the designated times.

We also have several new things that will be arriving any day for next year.

We have purchased the Academy of Reading software for the district, which is the software that I wrote about last month.  We also have 25 new computers and 12 new laser printers on the way for the High School business lab and the grade school.  One of the new purchases was a color laser printer that will be placed in the grade school lab, in which all of the grade school teacher computers will have access to.  The rest of the printers will be placed in the Grade School classrooms.

As we finish up the year I just want to tell each of you how neat it is to see everyone’s expanded personal growth in the area of technology.  I enjoy seeing the numerous ways that you have integrated technology across the curriculum.  After all, technology is here to make life easier, and I think that we are all starting to take notice at the time that it saves us.  Just the other day someone was talking about the days that we used to type our grade cards.  That has not been too long ago, because I still remember those days.

If you can think of a few ways that technology has helped you I would enjoy it if you would pass it along to me.

Have a good day!

Internet:

Anyone looking for an automobile???  Let me give you a few sites that will let you have the upper hand on the salesman.

www.kellybluebook.com On this site you can look up the value of your car that you are going to trade, or even look at the value of the new or used car that you are wanting to acquire.

http://autos.yahoo.com/edmunds/ This is another site that will give you used car values.

You can also look at the manufacturer’s web sites.  Here are a few:

www.4adodge.com I had to list this one first Norman.

http://www.chevrolet.com/

http://www.ford.com/

There are also many others out there, but this is a good start.  Happy car hunting!
