Everyone that rides or is near a school bus plays an important role in bus safety. It is important for all students to understand the expected conduct while on or near a bus and the consequences for violating the rules. Please take some time to review and talk with your child about safety and conduct when on or near a bus. In addition, feel free to contact the Transportation Director with any questions at 352-8701.

BUS CONDUCT RULES

Students are expected to obey safety rules when on or near a bus and understand that that the driver is in charge of the bus at all times. Any student who repeatedly violates the safety precautions and/or conduct rules may be denied the privilege of riding the bus and is subject to other disciplinary action to be determined by the principal and/or transportation coordinator.

·         Students are to be at the bus stop on time and wait quietly for the bus to arrive.

·         Students are to go directly to their assigned seat and remain seated facing forward until the bus arrives at the destination. NO STANDING OR CHANGING OF SEATS IS PERMITTED.

·         Students must be completely silent while the bus crosses railroad tracks.

·         No vandalism, drinking or smoking is permitted.

·         Students should never put any part of their body out the window of a bus.

·         Throwing of objects inside or outside the bus is not permitted.

·         No fighting or bad language is permitted.

·         A note is required from any student who must ride a different bus or exit at a stop other than their regular stop.

·         School rules apply on the school bus.

·         Students must follow directions the first time the driver asks.
